About Betty Ford Center
Betty Ford Center is one of the noted alcohol rehabilitation center in the United States of America. The history of Betty Ford Center is very much associated with the the founder of Betty Ford Center, former First lady Betty Ford. After the completion of her own treatment for chemical addiction at the U.S. Naval Hospital located at Long Beach, she consulted with her friends and stressed on the need for a treatment center, especially for women. With the assistance of her very close friend, Ambassador Leonard Firestone, she pursued her dream and in the year 1982, established Betty Ford Center in California's Rancho Mirage. Some of the noted rehabilitation programs offered by Betty Ford Center include Inpatient/Residential program (30 days stay), 90-Day treatment, Licensed Professionals (90 days stay), Clinical Diagnostic Evaluation (Outpatient evaluation and recommendation for 2-3 days), Outpatient ( 8 weeks), Children's Program (4 days), and Family Program (5 days or 4 evenings).

Betty Ford Center has special cells to look after women and men who have chemical addiction. For women, the center takes special care as many women and their family members deny addiction in fear of social stigma. Addiction results in disconnection, and it has a harmful impact on various critical avenues of a woman's life, namely, sexuality, self image, career, parenting and role perception.
