About Richard Burton
Richard Burton is a noted Welsh actor, whose storm like marriages to Elizabeth Taylor saw the intake of much alcohol. It was due to Burton's unstable state in a hangover at the time of the filming of Cleopatra that Elizabeth Taylor made the claim that the state was responsible for her falling in love with him. Richard Burton appeared on the British chat show Parkinson that had to be taped during the afternoon, for fear that he would be in a drunken state if they shot it in the evening. For that reason the audience was set up with staff of the BBC canteen.

Born on 10th November, 1925, Richard Burton had been nominated seven times for the Academy awards, and has won BAFTA and Golden Globe twice. At one point of time Richard Burton was the most highly paid Hollywood actor. Coming from a big family with twelve siblings, Richard Burton was raised in a working class environment. Under the guidance of his mentor Philip H. Burton, Richard Burton developed a style of his own, primarily through his brilliant voice, perfect for elocution. His style of elocution was a hybrid of English and Welsh style. He served RAF as a sailing master during the period of 1944 to 1947.

He appeared in a few British films like Now Barabbas Was A Robber, Waterfront in 1950, The Woman With No Name in 1951, and Green Grow The Rushes also in 1951.
