Obesity is a condition in which too much increase in body weight takes place. The people who suffer from obesity have an abnormal increase in the fat content of the body. Obesity is one of the most common diseases among people all over the world. Obesity is caused mainly due to bad food habit and incorrect lifestyle. In today?s fast moving world people have to feed on junk foods and get little time for physical exercises. The people working in corporate sectors have irregular work schedules and neglect their food on time. The heavy calorie food and lack of workouts result in gaining fat in the body. Obesity is the situation in which one has gained excessive fat in the body, which is not proportional with his or her height. The body mass index can identify the obesity of a person. A person is called to be suffering from obesity when he has 20% more then the normal weight of the body. In calculating obesity the height, weight and age of a person are also taken into account. The person with a high body mass index is prone to a number of chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.



In obesity a person's weight becomes greater than what's considered healthy for his or her height. This happens due to reserve of too much fat in the tissues of the individual. Obesity gives rise to lot of health problems like, cardiovascular diseases, osteoarthritis diabetes etc. and ultimately may even cause the death of an individual.

The major cause of obesity is burning of less calories than you take in. There should be a balance between number of calories taking in and number of calories burning out. It differs from person to person. It also depends on various factors like, overeating, eating high-fat foods, being physically inactive and genetic makeup, etc. The people suffering from obesity get the risk of severe diseases like, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis and cancers.

In you are obese then start from today to lose your weight so that you can enjoy a healthy and fit life. If you can lose even 5 to 10 percent of your weight you can delay or prevent some of these diseases. To overcome obesity, start following healthy food habit and lifestyle. Avoid the food, which is rich in calories, take low calorie food and have a balanced diet. Take food on time and do physical exercise. It is very much important to burn the extra fats, which have accumulated in the body.

Obesity is the root cause of a number of diseases in the body. A lot of diseases in the body which develop due to obesity are life threatening. Obesity can be avoided by following good food habits and healthy lifestyle. Regular physical exercise is necessary to maintain a fit body.

Obesity can be caused due to taking excessive amount of alcohol. Alcohol raises the levels of some fats in the blood. Drinking alcohol gives rise to high blood pressure and heart failure. Sometimes, excessive drinking leads to stroke. To avoid obesity due to alcohol intake you have to moderate your intake of alcohol quantity.
